MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
The Regular Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Assiginack was held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

OPENING:

THAT the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Assiginack be opened for business with a quorum of members present at 5:00 p.m., with Mayor Moffatt presiding in the Chair. CARRIED
AGENDA:

THAT the agenda for this meeting be amended by adding the following item:
6-E) 2018 Municipal Election: Sign Policy / Compliance Audit Committee
AND THAT the agenda be accepted as amended. CARRIED
DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST:
There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Councillor Fields commended the Southeast Manitoulin Lion’s Club for organizing an excellent Summerfest. There were new events and activities that were very well attended; the Lion’s Club should be proud of this year’s event. Councillor Fields also thanked the Airport staff for facilitating the Young Eagles program which gives children the chance to go for a ride in a small aircraft.
Councillor Moggy thanked the Township for the 60th Wedding Anniversary certificate on behalf of himself and Marilyn. They had a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends.
