Haunted Hustle Fun Walk/Run

On October 27, 2024 there will be a fun walk/run in Manitowaning. All fitness levels are welcome to join. There will be a 1 km walk/run and a 5 km walk/run. It will start and end in the parking lot of the Assiginack arena at 59 Vankoughnet St in Manitowaning.

The route will be through the town streets. A map will be provided to all entrants by email in advance of the race and will be clearly marked as well on the day of.

The race will begin on Sunday October 27th at 10 am. Check in will take place from 8:30-9:30 am at which time you will be issued a bib to be worn on the front of your clothing. Registration can be done online here. Please note it is under the ‘adult’ section.

Participants are encouraged to dress in costume, there will be prizes.

Age divisions are:

12 and under

13-18 years

19- 49 years 

50 +

Categories include: running, and speed walking (like the Olympics=)

The proceeds will be split between the Manitoulin Food Bank and Manitoulin Secondary School Food Locker. The 1 km race has a $5 entry fee, and the 5 km race is $15.

$10 from each $15 entry will go towards the food drives. The remaining $5 will be used for prizes.

Rules:

Children are allowed to enter. 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Every participant shall be provided with an event bib number, which shall be visibly worn on the front of the participant’s outermost layer during the event. . No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate bib number.
  • The use of music devices (e.g. iPods), cell phones, cameras or similar devices by participants while in the event is strongly discouraged at this event. Volunteers will be providing directions to help you to the finish line.
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or any other wheeled device will not be permitted to enter. Baby joggers and strollers are permitted. However, participants who chose to use baby joggers and/or strollers in the race are asked to start towards the back of the pack at the start line, need to yield to faster runners and cannot impede other runners’ progress.
  • No dogs/pets allowed in the race, except for service dogs.
