MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

The Regular Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Assiginack was held and hosted by way of a Zoom Conference video call on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 5:00 pm.

THAT the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Assiginack be opened for business at 5:00 pm, with a quorum of members present virtually, with Mayor Ham presiding in the Chair. CARRIED

THAT we confirm the attendance of all the Members of Council electronically (on Zoom) and adopt the agenda as presented. CARRIED

THAT the Minutes of the Public Health Sudbury and Districts Board Meetings of June 17, 2021 be received. CARRIED

THAT Council authorizes the following Accounts for Payment:
General: $197,280.39;
AND THAT the Mayor and administration be authorized to complete cheques #31256 through #31281, and #31288 through #31312 and #31313 through
#31323 as described in the attached cheque register report. CARRIED

THAT Council authorizes the following Accounts for Payment:
Payroll: $46,465.14;
AND THAT the Mayor and administration be authorized to complete cheques #31249 through #31255 and #31282 through #31287 as described in the attached cheque register report. CARRIED

THAT we inform the Manitoulin Municipal Association that we are prepared to share a representative on the OPP Detachment Board with the Township of Tehkummah. CARRIED

THAT we adopt he attached Covid 19 Municipal Protocol effective immediately. CARRIED

THAT we appoint Kari Gerhard to the Assiginack Library Board for the remainder of this term. CARRIED

BY-LAWS:

THAT By-law # 21-12, being a By-law to authorize an Agreement with Her Majesty the Queen as represented by the Ontario Ministry of Infrastructure under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program be given first, second and final readings and enacted in Open Council. CARRIED

THAT By-law # 21-13, being a by-law to appoint Jeremy Cooper as a Public Works Employee be given first, second and final readings and enacted in Open Council. CARRIED

CLOSED SESSION:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT in accordance with By-law #02-02 as amended and Section 239 of the Municipal Act, Council proceed to a closed session (in camera) at 5:10 pm in order to attend to a matter pertaining to:
a) Personal matters about an identifiable individual
b) Security of Municipal Property

THAT we adjourn from our closed session at 5:55 pm, approve the Closed Minutes of the September 7th Closed meeting and resume our Regular Meeting. CARRIED
